Despite low snowpack, no need to worry

“Everything is great except we don’t have snow,” Van Gundy said. “The reservoirs are at record levels and the hills have as much moisture as they can contain.”

Currently, the five Yakima Basin reservoirs are holding 75 percent more water than usual for February. According to federal Bureau of Reclamation data, the Bumping Lake reservoir is almost at capacity and the rest aren’t far behind.
